Mapna Group won the tender for the reconstruction of the Alstom diesel-electric locomotive by The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (IRIR). The project will be implemented in a consortium of MAPNA Group, MAPNA Railway Construction & Development Company and MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company (MLC), in which all 50 locomotives will be rebuilt and ready for operation within 2 years and after 5 years of operation, Ownership will be transferred to Mapna Group. Accordingly, MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company (MLC) will complete the process of reconstructioning and commissioning these 50 locomotives within a period of five years. Its operation started in November 2017.
